30 things about me

1      1. Good at sports
I have played almost every sport including table tennis, tennis, swimming, skiing, skating, badminton when I was young. I would go skiing every winter and swimming every summer. Though I don't have much time to do that now, I plan to play more sports when I graduate.

 2. Debate
I have debated for some time; I enjoy debating because I like public speech and the logical procession of ideas. I also love how debaters play a game of intellectual ping-pong, throwing rebuttal after rebuttal. I am not Yejoo Han, and may never be, but it doesn't hurt to enjoy debating.

     3.  Twin sister
I am very close with my twin sister. When we were younger, we would fight about the most trivial matters. We don’t fight as much now, and I think it's partly due to the physical distance between us. Except for the times we fight over our clothes, we are best friends under the same roof.

     4.  Writing
I like to write. I think good writing is one that delivers the writer's intentions with most accuracy that resonates in the heart. I like how writing constantly challenges me to edit and improve my work. But I can write only when I focus and really bring myself to it. They say good readers make good writers, so I should probably start reading more books.

  5. Uniqueness
I had hobbies that were quite unusual for an average schoolgirl. When I was younger, I collected wine corks. I still can't remember why. I was also interested in skateboarding and fingerboarding ( a cute mini-skateboard you ride with fingers).

   6.   Short hair
Some people mistake me for a boy because of my hair, though I don’t think of myself to be quite the masculine type. Then they apologize. These people also ask me whether  I cut my hair because I broke up, or whether plans to outgrow my hair. No, I didn't cut my hair because I broke up with a boyfriend, and I don't have current plans to outgrow my hair.

.     7.  Artistic
I have always enjoyed to draw and make things. When I was younger,  I would spend evenings drawing characters or making things out of clay. I once even bought gypsum to make a gypsum miniature bench. I don't do much of those things now, but my love for art remains the same.

      8. Memories in KMLA -1
One of my most memorable moments in KMLA was when I first scored during a basketball match. My first shoot was during a match with CSIA 2 years ago. It wasn't a free throw--it was a side shoot that I rarely had success in during practices. It was probably 75% luck and 25% skill, but this experience gave me the confidence to continue basketball in my future years. Sadly, our team did terribly last year, so I hope to redeem our reputation this year in the State championships.

1   9.   Memories in KMLA-2
I also hold dear the memory when I went to Laos to volunteer for a week. I will never forget how the children smiled at me—I still remember their names.

1  10.   Sleeping
I love sleeping, and I love my bed. This is why I normally spend my weekends in my bed, replenishing my strength. My friends always climb up to my bed saying that it's the comfiest. I agree--that's why I can't stop liking my bed. I also have a small, smooth blanket that I carry around because it feels so good on my skin.

1  11.   Pro-procrastinator
I’ll be honest; I procrastinate to the last minute. But my procrastination brings out the best in me; it’s amazing how much I can achieve under immense concentration and pressure.

1  12.   Stories
I like reading and writing stories. I think this also has something to do with why I like writing so much as well too. Plot-driven stories captivate me, but blander stories over a longer time span are attractive as well. One of my favorite novels is Life of Pi—I almost cried reading it.

1  13.   Extrovert
I receive energy talking and laughing with my friends; they are my greatest treasure in KMLA.

1  14.   Animals
When I was younger, I liked animals so much that I wanted to become a zookeeper. I still love animals, though I don’t harbor thoughts of working at the zoo anymore. I plan to live in a house with a golden retriever and two cats when I grow up.

1  15.   Thesaurus
I have always thought there is something amazing about dictionaries and thesauruses because the world’s vocabulary is recorded in that tiny book. I always have my online thesaurus open when I write. One of my life goals is to read a whole dictionary from A to Z.

1  16.   Inquisitive
I was a child full of curiosity and inquisition. I would ask so many questions that my parents would get mad and tell me to learn to accept things.

1  17.   Study habits
Because of my inquisitive nature, studying tends to be a bit time-consuming. I jot down questions that pop into my mind, and I can’t move on until a question mark is removed from my brain. But these habits really do help me get the material down, so I have no plans to change.

1  18.   Music
I like listening to saxophone music. One of my favorite musicians is Justin Ward, who posts saxophone covers of songs on Youtube. I enjoy both saxophone jazz and covers. My friends say I have a weird way of feeling the rhythm.
2  19.   Scent
I am especially fond of fragrances. People tell me that I smell like baby powder—I’d like to clarify that it’s the scent of my lotion, and it’s supposed to smell like iris, not baby powder. I still like how it smells, though.
2   20.   Greed
I do not have much secular, materialistic greed. That’s why I save most of my allowances and only buy the necessities.
2  21.   Tears
I cry a lot, especially when I watch movies. The movies that I cried the most watching are Me Before You and 신과함께
2  22.   Violin
I have played the violin for 6 years—though now I don’t, I plan to learn again after graduation.
2  23.   Singing
I love singing, but quite frankly, am bad at it.
2  24.   I don’t like the color gray because it seems so dull and colorless—black is a better color.
2  25.   I lost my things frequently when I was younger. I do not lose anything now; it’s been years since I have lost a single penny.
2  26.   Kota Kinabalu
My most memorable traveling experience was visiting Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia. I loved its beautiful nature and animals.
2  27.   My favorite food is jjajangmyeon; I eat one every time I go home.
2  28.   Peace
I don’t like fighting or arguing, so I tend to hold myself in and restrain myself even when I am unhappy or unsatisfied.
3  29.  I don’t get mad often.
3  30.  Smile
Sometimes, I smile and laugh so much that friends tell me that I look like a fool. I’ve decided that looking like a fool is better than living an unhappy life; my smiles let me enjoy the moment.
